The short answer
There is no single best provider. The right choice depends on what you need: accredited reports and lab tests, a local team that works in Chinese, or someone to run the whole purchase. Compare providers on how they are paid, whether you get the unedited video, how clear the price is and whether they work with small orders. This guide compares three types of provider. It names no company.
Large international companies, local companies and sourcing agents
The table is a general comparison of types, not a rating of any company. Individual companies differ, so use it to decide what to ask, not what to assume.
| Large international inspection company | Local Chinese inspection company | Sourcing agent or individual middleman | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Language and communication | Reports usually in English; support in Spanish varies by company. Ask who answers your questions. | Chinese first; English varies. Spanish is rare. | Depends on the person. Often chat-based, in English. |
| Price transparency | Usually a rate card or an online quote. Check what is included: travel, report, re-inspection. | Quoted by project and can vary a lot. Ask for the full price in writing. | Often a percentage of the order or a bundled price, which can be harder to compare. |
| Rebates from factories | Large firms often publish impartiality policies. Ask to see them, and ask which accreditations apply to your product. | Varies. Ask directly. | Some agents take a commission from the factory or a margin on the order. Ask how they are paid. |
| Video of the visit | Reports with photos are standard. Raw video is not always included. | Varies. Ask before you book. | Varies. Ask for unedited video, not only photos. |
| Ongoing follow-up | Usually project by project. | Project by project; some offer ongoing quality control contracts. | The ongoing relationship is the core of the service. |
| Small orders | Built for larger programs. Minimum fees can be hard to justify on a small order. | More flexible, depending on the company. | Flexible, but the commission model may favor larger orders. |
The buyer each type is best for
Large international inspection companies
Best for: buyers who need accredited reports, laboratory testing, product certification or audits against recognised schemes, or whose own customer requires a named global company. Also a good fit for large, regular programs across many factories.
Local Chinese inspection companies
Best for: buyers with regular volume in one region who have a Chinese-speaking team or contact, and who can manage the relationship themselves.
Sourcing agents and individual middlemen
Best for: buyers who want someone to run the whole purchase, from finding the factory to shipping, and who accept that the person advising them may also earn from the order. Ask how they are paid before you rely on their advice.
What we do well, and where we are not the right choice
A good fit: an independent factory verification and pre-shipment inspection team in Guangzhou, working in Spanish and English, with fixed prices, no commission from factories (see our impartiality statement) and real video of every on-site verification. It suits small and mid-size orders and importers in Latin America who do not read Chinese. We can continue into sourcing if you want it.
Not the right choice: if you need laboratory tests, international certificates or an accredited inspection report, a large inspection company or an accredited laboratory is a better fit. We are not a testing laboratory.

Eight questions for any provider, including us
- How are you paid, and by whom?
- Do you take anything from the factory, in any form?
- Is the price the same whether the factory passes or fails?
- Will I receive the unedited video, or only photos?
- Who goes to the factory: your employee or a freelancer?
- In which language is the report, and who answers my questions?
- What is not covered, such as laboratory tests or certificates?
- Can I see a sample report before I pay? (Ours: sample report.)
Frequently asked questions
What are the main types of China verification and inspection providers?
Three are common: large international inspection companies, local Chinese inspection companies, and sourcing agents or individual middlemen. They differ in language support, price transparency, how they are paid, whether you get video, ongoing follow-up and fit for small orders.
When is a large international inspection company the better choice?
When you need accredited reports, laboratory testing, product certification or an audit against a recognised scheme, or when your own customer requires a named global company.
What is the most important question to ask any provider?
How are you paid, and by whom? If the provider earns anything from the factory, or earns more when your order closes, ask how that is kept apart from the advice you receive.
Should I ask for video, not just photos?
Yes. Photos in a report can be selected and reused. Ask whether you receive the unedited video recorded during the visit.
Where is SourciaVera not the right choice?
If you need laboratory tests, international certificates or an accredited inspection report, a large inspection company or laboratory is a better fit.

A $49 remote supplier check looks at the basics first. If the supplier looks real and the order is large enough, an on-site factory verification (from $449) goes to the factory and films it.
